Smiling for Smiddy

07 Jan 2010

Smiling for Smiddy will offer a new event in 2010 for budding cyclists to test their mettle while raising funds for cancer research and health care.

The Midi-Smiddy Challenge, to be held 28-30 May, will see 40 cyclists tackle a demanding 560 kilometre route around south east Queensland in only three days.

The Challenge incorporates a return loop from Brisbane taking in Toowoomba and Warwick and includes two 200 kilometre plus days of cycling.

The Midi-Smiddy, a spin-off from its parent event the Bottlemart Smiling for Smiddy Challenge, caters for the strong demand from cyclists across Australia to experience the "Smiddy spirit".

Riders will again raise funds for the Mater Foundation as major beneficiary and contribute to our goal of raising $750,000 across Smiddy events in 2010.

We'd be delighted to see you join the fight against cancer and ride the Midi-Smiddy Challenge. Find out further details by viewing the rider invitation.
